Batik

Batik is a traditional cloth formed by a tool called a canting, or stamp by using paraffin as a pattern-forming material. Batik term comes from the Javanese language "amba" which means writing or drip.

  • Batik Tulis: painted with a canting.
  • Batik Cap: The motive formed with the pattern is made of copper.
Batik in Indonesia has a different motive - the difference according to region of origin. Indonesian Batik is known primarily from the region of Yogyakarta, Solo and some areas in West Java.

Batik Making Process:
